According to a survey by the Federal Reserve, about 58% of American adults are investing in the stock market as of 2022. And of that 58%, only around 21% invest in stocks outside of their company retirement plan. While this number is up from 32% of households owning stocks in 1989, the percentage of the population investing hasn’t significantly increased since 2001.
